    Your claim process should start the minute you have the accident. Where possible get photographs of the accident site, gets names and telephone numbers of any witnesses and ensure that if the accident takes place on a cruise ship or in the hotel, the accident is written up in the accident book and you receive a copy.

    Your next step will be to contact Accident Advice Helpline when you return home; this way the claims process can be put in motion. Each claim is unique and therefore there is no set time to how long it will take to complete. Remember you must claim within three years of the accident.
