    Traffic accident in insurance

If you are involved in a crash while driving in your motor vehicle, the first thing that will probably occupy your thoughts is making sure that no-one travelling in your vehicle at the time is seriously hurt. Provided that is the case, it is natural that you then immediately consider the road traffic accident in insurance terms. This is especially important if the other party involved in the accident is at fault.

    Traffic accident in insurance law

A traffic accident in insurance law is covered by a particular set of policies and regulations. Your insurer will ask for a large amount of details in order to effectively process the claim. You are probably familiar with the need to get the other party’s insurance details, if they have any, a thorough description of the incident, where, when and how it occurred, details of any necessary medical treatment, the contact information for all parties involved and a note of the incident number from emergency services who attended.

Although it can be administratively and logistically difficult, it’s always reassuring when your insurance company handles the claim promptly and efficiently, and your vehicle is quickly repaired or replaced with a courtesy car until it can be repaired. However there is another process that you may want to consider after being involved in a road traffic accident.

If you were not at fault for the accident, it happened within the last three years and you required medical assistance afterwards then you may be eligible to make a compensation claim. Accident Advice Helpline could not be in a better position to help.
