    Tonyrefail car accident

What to do in case of a motorway breakdown or Tonyrefail car accident

Having a Tonyrefail car accident or breakdown on the motorway can be much more frightening than on a quieter road. An accident on a motorway is likely to be more serious than on a road where cars are moving more slowly, and with the cars moving at a high speed you need to get yourself off the road and to safety as soon as possible.

Similarly, if you break down on the motorway, it is imperative that you get yourself and your car to a safe spot where you can be rescued as soon as possible. If your car does break down on the motorway, or you have an accident, here are some things you can do.

    • Move to the hard shoulder. The first and most important thing to do is to get out of the way of other cars. Everyone is moving fast on a motorway, and you can cause another accident if you are in the way. Move as far over on the hard shoulder as possible and stop.
    • Turn on your hazard lights. This will indicate to other drivers that there is a problem, and means that other drivers will see you long before they get close to you. If you cannot get to the hard shoulder, you should still put on your hazard lights.
    • Warn other drivers. If your car is in the way of other vehicles, then stand over to the side and try to warn other drivers of the upcoming problem so that they slow down. Simply standing at the side of the road and waving will indicate that something is wrong and could stop further accidents.
    • Call the police. Before you even call your breakdown service, you should call the police if there has been an accident. The police will need to be informed anyway, and can deal with potential problems quickly.
