Safety in kitchens, and how to find a law firm if you need one

If you are working in a kitchen, then there are plenty of health and safety regulations you need to follow. If there is an inspection and staff are found not to be following health and safety regulations, any kitchen can be shut down and staff can lose their jobs until the problems are rectified. For this reason, you are likely to complete quite a bit of training before you start working in a kitchen. However, it is still important that you remember some of the basic rules when you are working in a kitchen, so that you can look after yourself, as well as your employer and customers.

    • Move slowly. One of the easiest ways to get injured in a kitchen is to move around too quickly. With lots of knives, boiling saucepans, and so on all around, you need to move slowly and calmly around a kitchen to avoid being injured or causing injury.
    • Do your own job. Instead of trying to help everyone else with their jobs, or trying to take over a task you don’t feel is being done correctly, stick to your own job so that you can focus on it properly and run less risk of hurting yourself.
    • Be careful with knives and utensils. Many of the utensils used in a kitchen environment pose a threat to those using them. Be aware of the potential dangers of any utensil you are using, and make sure that you are always using them correctly.
    • Clean as you go. Try to make sure that you are always cleaning up as you go, and don’t leave spills or mess around the kitchen to trip up anyone else.

    Finding a Thurrock legal team

If you are injured in a kitchen due to the negligence of another person, you may be able to find a good Thurrock legal team and make a claim for compensation. You should only contact a Thurrock legal team if you have evidence that the accident was not your fault, and was in fact the fault of another person or company.

If you are unsure, then before you contact a Thurrock legal team you can contact Accident Advice Helpline to talk about your accident and get help deciding whether or not you should try to make a claim.
