Who can make a Three Rivers compensation claim?
Anyone who has been injured in an accident which was not their fault can make a Three Rivers compensation claim, provided that the accident occurred within the last three years.
Your solicitor will be able to speak to you in detail about the eligibility criteria, but if you just want to find out quickly whether or not you qualify to make a Three Rivers compensation claim, you can take Accident Advice Helpline’s 30-second test, which you will find on our website.
This will also give you a good indication of how much financial compensation you could be entitled to receive. Amounts will vary depending on your situation, but your Three Rivers compensation claim solicitor will be able to provide you with more information in relation to this.
However, when it comes to compensation and how it is awarded, it is generally split into three distinct categories.
Firstly, your Three Rivers compensation solicitor will arrange for you to be assessed by an independent medical expert. This expert will look at your medical records, to ascertain whether or not you have had any prior medical complaints similar to the one for which you are now claiming. They can then assess whether, if a prior complaint did exist, it has been made worse by the accident. They will be able to review the extent of your injuries and see how you are feeling now after the accident, and will also be able to comment on how long they envisage you will still suffer from your injuries. The report they produce will inform the amount of compensation to which you are entitled based on pain and suffering.
Secondly, you may be entitled to make a claim for any lost earnings that you have incurred as a result of your injuries. You will need to provide evidence of this to your Three Rivers compensation solicitor, who will add it to your claim documentation.
Finally, you can also put in a claim for any out-of-pocket expenses you have incurred as a result of the accident. This can include travel expenses, including those to the medical expert’s appointment, and the cost of any treatments or prescriptions you have needed to cover to aid in your recovery.
Your solicitor will do all they can to make sure that you receive the maximum amount of compensation to which you are entitled.
