    Three Rivers back injury claims

Getting emergency medical help, and how to make back injury claims

Depending on the situation, it may be necessary to get emergency medical help for a range of issues, from a variety of sources. It is not always necessary to call the emergency services, as an emergency doesn’t have to be life-threatening, but you may still need to speak to someone right away. If you need medical help immediately, and don’t want to wait for a doctor’s appointment, there are a few options available to you which will help you to move forward and get help asap.

    • Call the emergency services. It is important that you call 999 if you have had an accident and think you may have broken a bone, have a lot of bleeding or are in any trauma. You will not get into trouble if you feel that you need to go to hospital right away.
    • Call your doctor. If you are not in any trauma, but want advice and to make an appointment as soon as possible, call your doctor’s surgery and ask to speak to the doctor direct. The doctor may have to call you back, but you will be able to speak to them much more quickly than if you made an appointment.
    • Call NHS Direct. The NHS Direct number is there to talk about everything from accidents and illness, to emotional and mental issues. If you need emergency help with a problem that you don’t feel is serious enough to take to a doctor, but is still concerning you, then this is an excellent port of call.
    • Call a telephone counselling service. There are a number of organisations set up to offer emotional support and help with mental health issues, and these services are often 24 hours.
