The symptoms of bike accident injuries

In recent years, there have been a growing number of campaigns to promote safety on our roads. They have included appeals to motorists to be more considerate towards cyclists, and to give them the respect is afforded to other road users. In the event of an accident, a cyclist will undoubtedly sustain far more serious injuries than someone in a 4-wheeled vehicle. Even in a low speed collision, the impact for a cyclist can be quite devastating.

The symptoms of bike accident injuries

The most common kind of injuries in a bike accident are cuts, bruising and fractures to the arm or wrist. These can occur even if high speed was not a factor in the accident. The victim will feel pain and discomfort around the areas that have been affected. In the case of a broken bone, the pain can be quite intense and they may be unable to move the limb or joint. It is important to get medical attention as soon as possible, as a fracture will heal much faster if it is treated quickly.

    Head injuries

Head injuries are more common in high impact collisions. They can range from bruising and gashes in the skin, to concussion and even brain damage. The victim of a serious head injury might notice that they feel dizzy or confused. They may experience intense headaches, blurred vision, and could even become unconscious. Under these circumstances, an ambulance should be called immediately to the scene, so that the victim can get immediate medical attention.

    Non-fault bike accident

If you have been injured in a bike accident that was not your fault, then you could be entitled to compensation. Whether you sustained a simple fracture, or a more complicated and serious injury, you may be able to seek justice.

At Accident Advice Helpline, we will work hard to get the maximum amount of compensation that you deserve. As one of the top law firms in the UK, there is no one better placed to handle your personal injury claim.
