    Taxi accident

Many of us rely on taxis regularly, to get home from a night out, or even to take us home or to a friend’s house after a busy day or night of shopping, eating and drinking. If you live in a more rural area, you may even take regular taxis to work or on the weekends. The last thing on anybody’s mind when travelling by taxi is being injured in a taxi accident. Taxi drivers are professionals, and so we trust them to take us to our destination safely and speedily – although this doesn’t always happen.

If you have been injured in an accident whilst travelling in a cab, you might find you could claim personal injury compensation with Accident Advice Helpline – it all depends what has happened.

    How have you been injured?

The types of injuries sustained in a taxi accident can range from minor injuries to life-threatening ones. Here are just a few examples of injuries Accident Advice Helpline has handled personal injury claims for over the past 15 years:

    • Cuts and bruises
    • Whiplash, usually after a collision
    • Broken bones
    • Crush injuries
    • Serious head injuries
    • Minor head injuries such as concussion
    • Cuts from faulty seats or cab interior
    • Facial and eye injuries, usually caused by a shattered windscreen after a collision
    • Slip, trip or fall injuries when getting into or out of the cab
    • Injuries caused by luggage if the cab is driving erratically

If you’ve been injured and you feel the taxi driver was to blame, you can get in touch with us within three years of your accident to find out if you have a viable claim for personal injury compensation.
