How to make a sale easily
If you work in sales then it is important that you are able to make as many sales as you can in a day. Your boss will usually give you a couple of weeks to get used to the situation, so that you can learn what you need to and get used to the process, but eventually you are going to be expected to start meeting goals that have been set for you and this is where the job can start to get difficult. If you are struggling to make sales and are worried that your job is on the line, here are some ways that you can start to improve your performance.
- Work out what the customer wants. A customer may come to you and tell you that they want a particular product, or they may have an idea of the product that they want. However, if you are able to ask them a few simple questions, you may get a better understanding of what they really want and be able to offer them a solution which is cheaper and more practical.
- Be friendly. A customer is less likely to want to spend the time with you to help them to get the product that they want if you come across unfriendly or unpleasant. Always try to be aware of the impression that you are putting across, so that customers gravitate towards you and want to spend the time with you.
- Ask questions. Customers will want to talk about what they are looking for, and may even relish a little small talk. Don’t be pushy but ask questions and leave it open so that a customer can start chatting with you. This helps them to feel as though they have a bond with you, which makes them more likely to buy something from you.
