There is a village in Somerset called Blue Anchor, and a hamlet in Cornwall with the same name. You probably won’t find any solicitors in Blue Anchor-based in either place, so, if you have been injured in an accident that you can prove was not your fault, or if you have been diagnosed with an illness caused by another person’s negligence, call us at Accident Advice Helpline and we will do our utmost to put you in touch with one of our expert personal injury solicitors.
Finding a suitable solicitor in Blue Anchor or elsewhere
If you have been injured in an accident and can prove, with the assistance of solicitors in Blue Anchor, or one based elsewhere, that another person was responsible, you may be entitled to file a personal injury compensation claim. If you have been injured in an accident in a public place, for example, you would need to find a solicitor who specialized in such accidents. It wouldn’t be a good idea to have a solicitor whose main area of expertise lay in accidents in the workplace. Even if there were solicitors in Blue Anchor based, they may not have an expert in the area of the law that you need in order to have a chance of filing a successful personal injury compensation claim.
If you find a firm of suitable solicitors you may be able to have a first appointment free of charge so that you can tell a solicitor about your accident and why it was not your fault. By the end of that free appointment, the solicitor should be able to explain to you if you have grounds on which to base a claim, or not.
You should ask to see testimonials from satisfied clients who have had similar accidents and injuries to yours. You would also probably need to hire the services of a solicitor who works on a no-win, no fee basis, as you can no longer have legal aid for a personal injury compensation claim case.
How long do I have to claim?
You have three years to claim for an illness which was or is the result of another person’s negligence, and usually the same amount of time to claim for injuries arising from an accident that happened in the UK. However there are some accidents and injuries which must be claimed for in a shorter period of time. Check with us at Accident Advice Helpline to find out how long you have in which to file your claim.
