Falling down when shopping
Accidents can happen anywhere, they can strike at anytime. But what is important to know is that if you are on private property then it will usually be someone else’s responsibility to ensure your safety. In fact it is their duty to give you a safe environment to enter if they are inviting you in.
Many slips, trips and falls in Staffordshire Moorlands happen when people are simply out shopping. And if a business invites you in to their premises to shop and causes you to have a fall because they have not created a safe environment, then there is no reason why you should have to take the brunt of the costs that you will have to face as you recover.
Obviously this does not mean that if you fall over because you are clumsy that it is anyone else’s fault but your own. But if you have wandered into a shop and slipped because of a step or tripped because of hazards, or fallen because it is not a safe environment, then you should not take this lying down.
Having slips, trips and falls in Staffordshire Moorlands when out and about
Accidents can be serious. It may just be a trip, which sounds like nothing, but this can lead to time off work, long term injuries, even not being able to play your favorite sport anymore. And this is no good.
When businesses create their shops, etc, then they must do so in a way that is safe for the public. Business is a hugely regulated area and there are plenty or rules and training available to make sure certain standards are met. So there really is no excuse for negligence.
