STEP is a free e-Learning tool offered by the HSE (Health and Safety Executive) . It educates people about the hazards of slips, trips and falls in Northamptonshire, and indeed in workplaces anywhere across the UK, and can be downloaded free of charge from the HSE website.
Replacing and supplementing other HSE publications
The new STEP e-Learning program actually replaces some other publications previously offered by the HSE; namely “Slips and Trips: Guidance for employers on identifying hazards and controlling risks – HSG155”, and “Slips and Trips; Guidance for the food processing industry – HSG156”. It shows information in a different way, and it makes reference to other current publications including the “Slips Assessment Tool – SAT” and the “Stop Slips in Kitchens” pack.
Certifying workers in terms of slip, trip and fall education
The STEP e-learning programme also includes a number of certificates that can be printed off and personalised to record the training of individual workers. This is helpful to employers in terms of keeping track of their progress with regard to familiarising workers with health and safety risks, mitigations, and recommended best practices relating to slips, trips and falls in Northamptonshire.
Certifications are available for all levels of the STEP e-Learning program, introductory, intermediate, and advanced, with individual certificates for each of the topics covered in the advanced section.
Incorporating STEP into your own company intranet system
For organisations that have their own intranet services, the STEP e-Learning program can be downloaded and integrated into those services, but cannot however be changed in any way.Open Claim Calculator
