    Slipped at work?

The workplace can be a dangerous place, and many different dangers can exist in the workplace, that might not always exist in your home. These dangers will tend to vary depending on the workplace, though you should always strive to be aware of the dangers that might affect you, and what you can do in order to protect yourself from the dangers that might cause an injury so severe that you might not be able to work in the coming months.

    Common workplace risks

However, despite the fact that each workplace is different, there are still some common injuries that might present themselves in the workplace,  which everyone should have a keen eye for. One example of this, are injuries related to slips, trips, and falls.

Slips will happen for a number of reasons, and the culprit for them occurring will not always be the same. Often at times a slip could happen if someone chooses to ignore that there was a wet floor sign on the floor, but decided to walk ahead anyway. However, a slip can also happen, if a member of staff has not been briefed, or notified of the dangers that exist in that workplace, especially in relation to slips and falls.

It is because of this it can often help for workplace members to convene on a regular basis to discuss the dangers in a workplace, and how to reduce them from having an impact. A worker will often benefit from this, since they’re now aware of what they can do to stay safe.

Yet in spite of this, some workplaces might not have these meetings, and the dangers present might not be made obvious. In situations like this, injuries are highly likely to occur, and they can often happen because of the fault of someone else.

Someone who has slipped at work, might have slipped because there was not the proper signs around, notifying them of the dangers of a wet floor. However, they might have also slipped at work because someone was not making them aware of the dangers.
