"If you've been injured through no fault of your own you could be entitled to compensation. If you're unsure if you could claim, I recommend you call Accident Advice Helpline."

    Fall cases

Can slip and fall cases be compensated? Yes, they can with Accident Advice Helpline, and if you read on you will find out how this can be done.

Slip and fall cases: the facts

If you slip and fall, you could suffer injuries. A slip can happen on a wet or oily floor, and when you slip your natural reaction is to try to break your fall if you are aware of what’s happening. The slip might happen so quickly that you are unable to react in time.

Either way, it might not alter the outcome. This could be a broken arm or leg, or even a broken back. A head injury might also be sustained. You could even be wounded from falling on concrete or any other uneven surface as the result of a slip.

    Following a slip and fall

Once you have got yourself checked out at A&E or your GP’s surgery, depending on the severity of your injuries, you will probably be resting. You may also be off work for a long time, and be unable to perform everyday tasks such as cleaning, cooking and driving.

You might find you’re shelling out a bit more cash than usual, too. In the aftermath of slip and fall cases, people need to attend hospital appointments, so taxis or buses are often needed, and some people need to get extra help with childcare or the household tasks.

While you are paying for all of this, you may also be losing earnings because you’re off work for a long time. None of this is your fault, yet you are suffering not only physically and mentally, but also financially.
