Sevenoaks no win no fee accident

A claim for an injury suffered in an accident while in a golf buggy will need the provision of a Sevenoaks no win no fee accident lawyer

The town of Sevenoaks is located in the west of Kent county in England and a golf course has been the subject of a compensation claim due to an accident that happened to an employee. The employer, Darenth Valley Golf Course pleaded guilty to the charge of a breach of the Health and Safety at Work Act at Sevenoaks Magistrates Court. Over 12,000 pounds in compensation was ordered to be paid by the Darenth Valley Golf Course due to a successful case made against them by Sevenoaks District Council.

The council made the case after its investigation into a workplace incident at the golf course involving their employee, Jayne Denereaz, who had been injured on December 11 2013 when she tried to retrieve a golf buggy that was broken down on the course. Denereaz and a workmate were advised to use a towing manoeuvre to retrieve the buggy and were given a tow rope. The buggy that she was in ended up being overturned on to her body and she received serious injuries included a broken hand, lung contusion and severe bruising.

The Sevenoaks District Council conducted an investigation into the incident and it revealed that the manual for the buggies clearly advised not to tow the vehicle. It also found that there was no assessment of the risk involved and no system in place for retrieving broken buggies. There was also no records of any training that was given in the use of golf buggies.

The Council’s Cabinet member for Environmental Health has said in regards to the incident that Denereaz’s injuries could have been more serious. He added that the fine handed down to the golf course shows the seriousness of the case and that employers have a duty of care for their employees not to put them at risk.
