Claims for an injury from an accident during a Formula One race will need the assignment of a Scarborough no win no fee* accident lawyer
The town of Scarborough is located in the north of Yorkshire in England and it is one of many areas that has been looking to the FIA for action after a dangerous accident happened in Suzuka, Japan during a grand prix race. The driver injured in the accident, Jules Bianchi, received serious injuries to his brain during the race when his vehicle collided with a recovery vehicle. In response, the FIA has commissioned their race director, Charlie Whiting, to conduct an investigative report into the context and cause of the accident.
The report was completed swiftly and Whiting concluded that the conditions that led to the incident came together by chance but combined to form a dangerous hazard for drivers in the race. In the report, it details how Bianchi drove into a patch of water, spun off the track and hit the recovery vehicle. A media briefing was conducted at the Sochi Autodrom for the Russian Grand Prix and Whiting showed here with the help of video footage that there were no problems with safety signals and all the race marshals were doing their jobs correctly.
However, the FIA has still reacted to the incident by considering the proposal to impose a speed limit on vehicles racing during the yellow flag period. In addition, there is a proposal for recovery vehicles to be given ground clearance due to the low height of Formula One cars. The speed limit proposal requires a meeting of all the race team leaders to be consulted so it will not be imposed for the next Formula One race. The ground clearance proposal will be considered by the FIA Safety Commission for implementation for the next season’s Formula One grand prix. Another potential proposal is to introduce cockpit canopies to add another layer of protection for drivers of Formula One vehicles.
