    Road Traffic Incident

The risk of a road traffic incident

Britain’s roads are busier than ever and road traffic is steadily increasing every year. Department for Transport figures show that last year a staggering 34.7 million vehicles were registered on our roads, an increase of 0.7% on the previous year.

This inevitably means that even for the most careful drivers, accidents are an unavoidable, everyday hazard of using our roads.

In many cases, a road traffic incident is an accident, pure and simple, perhaps caused by adverse weather, poor driving conditions or any number of other reasons. However, there are a large number of such incidents where somebody is to blame, and in those cases, the victim is entitled to claim personal injury compensation.

The after-effects of a road traffic incident

If you are involved in any sort of road accident, it can be a very traumatic experience. Not only that, it can leave you with various injuries. Injuries sustained in a road traffic incident may range from mild injuries such as bruising and minor cuts and lacerations from which the victim will fully recover, to those which cause more lasting damage. In the most severe cases, injuries can be life-changing, as is the case with some head and spinal injuries, or even fatal.

Helping road traffic incident victims since 2000

We at Accident Advice Helpline believe anybody who has been involved in a road traffic accident which was someone else’s fault should receive the maximum amount of compensation possible, in order to help them with their recovery or provide them with the best possible quality of life if they have suffered injuries which will affect them for the rest of their lives. It’s to this end that we have been fighting for compensation on behalf of thousands of victims since our launch more than ten years ago.
