    Road crash incident

Being in a road crash incident can be traumatic for everyone involved, but if the accident was caused by someone else, that can be even worse. It can lead to feelings of resentment and anger against the guilty party, particularly if the injuries you sustained are so severe, that your life style has to change dramatically to cope with them.

This is not as unusual as it may sound. Victims sustain serious injuries in a road crash incident every day and in fact on average, 5 people a day loses their lives in this way. Many of the deaths are for 2 wheeled riders, motor bikers and cyclists being very vulnerable because of the lack of protection their particular mode of transport has.

It is also apparent that larger vehicles are often involved in the accidents, heavy goods vehicles for instance are in more road traffic accidents than any other type of vehicle on our roads. The majority of times the HGV’s are in a road traffic collision is when they are off the motorways and having to negotiate the much small city streets.

Claiming compensation for a road crash incident

If you have been injured in a road traffic accident that was not your fault, it can have huge effects on your life, and those close to you. You could:

    • Damage your legs and need a wheel chair to get around.
    • Have your sight damaged so that you are unable to see for yourself what you are doing.
    • Suffer brain injuries to such an extent that you need 24 hour care.
    • Lose a limb, perhaps an arm which might mean you need help to do simple every day tasks.
    • Be so traumatised that you develop post traumatic stress disorder and suddenly cannot go our on your own because of panic attacks.

These are just a small sample of injuries that happen to victims all the time and if you have been injured in a road traffic accident some time in the last three years, providing your injuries needed medical attention, you could be entitled to compensation.

As well as compensation for the pain and suffering you have been caused, the impact that the injuries have had on your life will also be accounted for, along with any costs and losses you have had to bear because of the accident.
