    Road Collision

    Road Collision History

The history of the road collision can be traced all the way back to the latter days of the 19th century. The cars on the road were few and far between and had more in common with the horse-drawn carriages they were starting to replace than the modern motor car of today. Back in the 19th century, country roads were little more than cart tracks or cobbled streets when in the towns and cities. The vehicles of today have the benefit of smooth tarmac or concrete surfaces to drive on and it is just as well, because the numbers of vehicles on our roads are massive. Unfortunately this volume of traffic is a major cause of the road collision. If you were to just consider the London area between 1999 and 2008, road accident fatalities fluctuated between approximately 2500 and 3500 per annum. Of course, for every fatality there are many more survivors.

    • Air Bags Invented – 1950s
    • Seat Belts Compulsory in UK – 1980s
    • Accident Advice Helpline Established – 2000s

It is those survivors that can benefit from the advice available at Accident Advice Helpline. Anyone involved in a road accident within the last three years and sustaining an injury requiring medical attention, is entitled by law to apply for compensation, the chief stipulation being that it was caused by someone else.

Accident Advice Helpline are on hand to help you make your road accident claim.
