    It doesn’t matter where you live or what car you drive, you could be involved in a road traffic accident and need the services of a personal injury lawyer in Kingspark to make a personal injury claim for you.

    Many accidents happen on busy roads

    UK roads are busier than ever, and unfortunately a side effect of this is that there are more road traffic accidents than ever, more faultless victims and more personal injury claims.

    Traffic on our roads

    Government figures show that for the quarter ending June 2013, compared to the same period in 2012:

    • All vehicle types have shown an increase, including cars by 2.3%, light goods vehicles by 6.1% and heavy goods vehicles by 1.7%;
    • All motor vehicle traffic increased by 2.9%; and
    • Traffic volumes increased on all road types, with the largest increases being on motorways (4.9%), minor roads (3.6%) and A-roads (1.4%).

    There are still too many accidents on our roads, even though accident figures have reduced

    It is generally accepted that an average of five people a day lose their lives on our roads. For accidents, the government figures show an improvement for the year ending March 2013 over the year ending March 2012, but there were still 23,660 people either killed or seriously injured from a total of 188,890 reported casualties in that period.

    Cycling casualties were down 23% and motorbike casualties down 27%, both of which are drops that were attributed to the bad weather, which would have stopped more people riding quite so much.
