Insurance covers pretty much all types of accidents where a claim for compensation could be made. There are some different types of insurances that a personal injury lawyer Cockermouth deals with everyday. Have a look below to see what kind of insurance you could be dealing with in you compensation claim.

Motor insurance – This insurance is pretty self explanatory, it covers any kind of accident that happens involving a vehicle. There are three different types that you could have, the most basic one being 3rd party insurance. The basically covers only the damages and injuries that happens to the car and the person that was not at fault for the accident. The next one is 3rd party, fire and theft – this covers you for everything that has already been said plus if your car is stolen or if it catches fire. The last one has the most cover and that is comprehensive insurance – this covers you for everything that has already been mentioned plus any damages that happen to your car.

Employers liability insurance – While there can be a couple exceptions to this one, nearly all employers are legally required to have this insurance. If they do not there could be a lot of trouble for them. This covers employers in case an employee gets injured in a work related accident or if they get an industrial disease at work. But this insurance does not come cheap, the minimum  that most insurance firms offer is a 10 million cover.

Public liability insurance – this insurance basically covers all public places to a public business, this cover is limitless because there are so many different types of accidents that could happen in a public place, from slips trips and falls to food poisoning. This insurance is surprisingly cheap compared to the other insurances on this list.

Professional indemnity insurance – if a person who worked in a profession that could leave them open to a claim for compensation against them was smart they would have this insurance, it would cover the expenses of the claim. Such as if a medical professional was being sued for medical negligence.

Product liability insurance – this covers all manufacturers, producers and importers in the chance of one of there items ends up being faulty and they sell it to a customer who ends up getting injured.
