Personal injury compensation claims in Nottinghamshire

Confused about personal injury compensation claims in Nottinghamshire?

You may be a little confused about how to make personal injury compensation claims in Nottinghamshire. If you think that you have a claim to make, but aren’t sure about how to start the process, give us a call at Accident Advice Helpline. We are a law firm that has more than 15 years’ experience of helping people file their claims.

    Can I make a claim?

You can probably make a claim if you can prove that the accident in which you were injured was caused by another person’s negligence or recklessness. If, for example you had a road traffic accident because you swerved to avoid a wild animal, such as a deer, and crashed into a tree, you would not be able to file a claim. You can only claim damages from a person.

You usually have three years to make a claim for injuries from the date of your accident, assuming it happened in this country. However, there are some exceptions to this general rule. You may only have six months to file your particular claim, and time might be running out fast. Contact us at Accident Advice Helpline today to find out how long you have to start your potential claim.

We can tell you if your claim is valid or not and you can start the claims process over the phone if it is.

Don’t delay, as if you miss the deadline for filing your potential claim, you would need to prove that there were exceptional circumstances that had prevented you from doing this before the deadline.

How much compensation might I receive?

No one can tell you with certainty just how much you might receive in compensation for a successful claim. There are so many factors to be taken into consideration that this is impossible to do. Your accident is as unique as you are.

You might receive general and special damages for a successful claim. You are awarded general damages as compensation for your injuries. The amount you are awarded depends on how severe your injuries are. If they are life-changing, then you would receive more than someone who only suffered minor ones.

You can also be reimbursed for costs incurred because of your injuries. These are special damages.
