    Office accident compensation

    Office accident compensation

Although offices are amongst the safest of workplaces, a large number of people are still injured as a result of accidents that occur in offices each year.

There are a number of different ways that people can be injured in accidents in an office, including:

    • slips, trips and falls
    • objects falling from shelves and hitting people
    • burns and other skin problems caused by hazardous cleaning products
    • back injuries and other problems caused by lifting heavy objects
    • electric shocks from faulty office equipment

How do I make a claim for office accident compensation?

If you have been injured in an accident in an office and it was somebody else’s fault, you may be entitled to make a claim for compensation. It makes no difference whether the office in which you were injured was your own place of work, or if you were just there as a visitor.

You must make your claim within three years of the date of your accident or it will be time barred.

Your office accident compensation claim will include an amount of compensation for your pain and suffering, but it may also include an element for lost wages and any other out-of-pocket expenses that you may have incurred. It is important to keep documentation such as pay slips or receipts to support any claim for lost wages or out-of-pocket expenses. If your injury results in permanent damage, your compensation claim may also include an amount for anticipated future losses.
