North Kesteven Compensation

North Kesteven is a local government district found within the ceremonial county of Lincolnshire, in the East Midlands region of England. The district is located approximately 100 miles (160 km) north of London, is to the east of Nottingham and to the south of Lincoln.

The district is the central most of Lincolnshire’s seven districts and the district council has its headquarters in the town of Sleaford within the former offices of the now defunct Kesteven County Council.

The Formation Of The District Of North Kesteven

As is the case with many local government districts around the UK, the district of North Kesteven only came into being around 40 years ago on the 1st April 1974. This was as a result of the Local Government Act of 1972 which created the district as a merger of the previous urban district of Sleaford, along with the East Kesteven Rural District and the North Kesteven Rural District.

Between the passage of the act in 1972 and the official formation of the new district there was a lot of discussion and changing of plans when it came to the new district council’s headquarters.

The original plan was for these headquarters to be located in Lincoln but by 1973 the plan changed to move the administrative centre of the district to Sleaford. The actual location within Sleaford for the headquarters was changed a number of times too, before the current base of operations was decided upon.

The Population Of North Kesteven

According to the latest estimates, from the year 2011, the district of North Kesteven is home to approximately 108,500 permanent residents. When you consider that the district covers over 350 square miles this does not seem like a particularly large population, but it is still large enough to mean that accidents and injuries can occur in the district relatively frequently. It is for that reason, as a result, that it is worth briefly discussing North Kesteven compensation claims.
