North Dorset is a local government district found within the ceremonial county of Dorset in the southern part of the United Kingdom. The district is mostly rural in nature but does include settlements such as Blandford Forum, Gillingham, Shaftesbury, Stalbridge and Sturminster Newton. The district is largely found within the River Stour valley and the verdant nature of this valley is ideal for dairy agriculture, which is what makes the district a largely rural one.
The Formation Of The District Of North Dorset
The district of North Dorset, alongside a huge raft of other UK local government districts, was officially formed on the 1st April 1974. This was as a result of the passage of the Local Government Act of 1972, which reorganised and reshaped local government all over the United Kingdom.
In the case of North Dorset, the new district was created from a merger of the municipal boroughs of Blandford Forum, Shaftesbury, Blandford Rural District, and the Shaftesbury and Sturminster Rural Districts.
Present Day North Dorset
In its current form, the local government district of North Dorset covers an approximate land area of around 235 square miles and is home to close to 70,000 permanent residents. This gives the district a population density of approximately 290 residents per square mile and reveals that accidents and injuries are likely to be comparatively few and far between. That does not mean, however, that these accidents and injuries cannot ever occur and as such in North Dorset compensation claims do also sometimes arise.
North Dorset Compensation Claims
As is the case elsewhere in the UK, in North Dorset compensation claims can be pursued by an individual who is injured and whose injury was demonstrably somebody else’s fault. This means that these North Dorset compensation claims can be absolutely vital for victims who need help in dealing with the physical, emotional and financial hardships that they have had to face through no fault of their own.
It becomes clear, then, just how vital personal injury claims can be and as a result just how important it is to find the right people to handle your claim if you do ever need to pursue one.
