Nurse makes no win no fee compensation in Enfield claim

Accident Advice Helpline have recently helped a nurse make a no win no fee compensation in Enfield claim after she was assaulted at work.

Sue contacted us after she sustained multiple injuries at the hands of a violent patient at the residential unit on which she worked.

“I wouldn’t usually have made a complaint, or even pursued a no win no fee compensation in Enfield claim, but this was a freak incident that could actualy have been prevented.”

Our client had been injured by patients before during the course of her work. She told us:

“It’s the sort of thing you hope won’t happen, but when it does, it doesn’t always come as a shock. Our patients are not well, and sometimes they can be quite unpredictable. We have procedures in place to help combat it, and for the most part they work. Up until now I have just had a couple of scratches, or things thrown at me that I’ve been able to avoid.”

However, this particular incident which led to Sue making a no win no fee compensation in Enfield claim was different.

“The patient in question was very agitated and simply rushed at me. He pinned me against the floor and started beating me. I managed to get away from him and went to sound the alarm, but the alarm cord was broken. There was no way that I could get hold of any of the colleagues.”

The assault lasted for five minutes before Sue was found, collapsed on the floor of the patient’s room. She had suffered a broken jaw, three broken ribs, severe concussion and a sprained ankle in the attack. Thankfully, due to his own physical limitations the attack was not worse.

Sue decided to seek no win no fee compensation in Enfield because she held her employer responsible for the injuries she sustained.

“I know they couldn’t have predicted, or even prevented the attack, but my injuries were made worse because the system by which I called for help was broken. They never bother to check the cords, or that the buzzers are working – there just is no process for it.”

As a result of making her no win no fee compensation in Enfield claim Sue not only received compensation, but also helped ensure that a policy was put in place for the future.

“Knowing that this is unlikely to happen to anyone else is actually worth more than the compensation itself.”
