Making a simple negligence claim in West Oxfordshire
Although it is nearly autumn, the sun is still great, so there is still time to get outside and enjoy sports, sunbathing, walking in the park, or any other outdoor activities.
However, make sure that you apply common sense when enjoying the great outdoors.
Always use sunscreen, and if you plan on swimming outside, make sure that the water is not too cold.
Don’t drink too much!
A picnic is a great idea, but please do not drink alcohol and then decide to have a spontaneous game of rounders using tree branches. Also avoid any other form of crazy alcohol fuelled running around, as this is how accidents happen.
In the sunshine it is best to drink in moderation anyway, as sometimes you may find that you have drunk more than you expected. This can lead to dehydration, dizziness, and problems with getting home.
Make sure not to leave food outside in the sunshine too, as this can lead to it spoiling quickly and subsequent food poisoning.
If you are going for a walk in the countryside, make sure that you wear suitable footwear so that you don’t slip over. Cover your legs or use mosquito repellent, if it is the time of year for mosquitoes. If you know that you are sensitive to mosquito bites, also carry an antihistamine with you.
Don’t Provoke Dogs
Take care around other people’s dogs as they may not be as friendly as they seem. Make sure not to pet them without permission, and never kick or poke them as they may bite back.
Despite every care you may take in the sunshine, sometimes accident still happen. Of course we really hope that they don’t, but if something goes wrong and it is not your fault, you can give Accident Advice Helpline a call for help and advice.
