Mid Suffolk is a local government district which can be found within the ceremonial county of Suffolk, in the East Anglia region of southern England. The district’s largest settlement and administrative centre is the town of Stowmarket, but it also features a huge 121 other parishes and settlements. Some of the more notable of these other settlements include the likes of Badwell Ash, Barking, Debenham, Great Blakenham and Old Newton with Dagworth.
The Creation Of The Mid Suffolk District
As is the case with a huge raft of local government district all over the UK, the local government district of Mid Suffolk was officially created on the 1st April 1974. This came about as a result of the Local Government Act of 1972, which reorganised local government all over the United Kingdom.
When it comes to Mid Suffolk, the new district was created from a merger of the Borough of Eye, Stowmarket urban district, Gipping Rural District, Hartismere Rural District and Thedwastre Rural District.
Mid Suffolk Today
In its current guise, the local government district of Mid Suffolk covers a total land area of approximately 336 square miles, making it the 40th largest of England’s 326 districts. When it comes to population, however, the district is home to a comparatively small 97,100 permanent residents, meaning that it is only the 241st most populated of these districts.
This tells us a lot about the nature of the district, in that it reveals that it will be a quiet and fairly uneventful place to live. This does not however mean that accidents and injuries never occur in the district and as such it remains pertinent to talk about Mid Suffolk compensation claims.
