Maidstone No Win No Fee Accident Claim

Dealing with arguments after an accident and how to make a  no win no fee accident claim

If you have been involved in a serious accident, you already have plenty to deal with, such as recovering from your injuries and working out how to pay for all of the expenses that come from having an accident. One of the worst things you may then have to deal with is trying to repair the relationships between yourself and the person that caused the accident, or the other way around if you were to blame for what happened.

Even the most forgiving person is likely to feel some anger about an accident, which was not their fault, and has caused them long term or permanent damage. However, holding on to these feelings can actually be very damaging, so you do need to start repairing the relationships that you have.

    • Talk about it. Arrange a time when you can all sit down together without interruption and talk through exactly what happened. Make sure that everyone is happy to listen to everyone else and that you each give yourself the opportunity to talk as well as listen. Most people will feel better simply because they have been able to express their feelings.
    • Spend some time apart. Although you should talk, it may also be helpful for you all to spend some time apart for a while following the accident. This will give you the opportunity to deal with the feelings that you are having without getting into arguments.
    • Seek counselling. You can look into counselling on your own or as a group, but it is important that you look into some form of counselling so that you can talk over your feelings with a professional, who will be able to help you to decide ways which will help you to move forward.
    • Be clear about what you are doing. If there are arguments because of people putting forward compensation claims, you must explain your reasoning behind making a claim to the person you are making it against, to prevent it feeling personal.
