There has been a lot of speculation regarding compensation claims relating to whiplash, but why is there such a negative attitude toward whiplash and where does this place those people with a genuine claim for whiplash compensation?

Whiplash problems – what is it?

Whiplash is the name given to the injury that people can sustain as a result of a vicious snapping motion of their neck, back and forward. Commonly associated with road traffic accidents, it is possible to sustain whiplash from other accidents too, including roller coaster rides or any accidents that involves injuries to the head or back.

Whiplash negativity – why did it start?

Our lawyers deal on a regular basis whiplash injury compensation cases but not exclusively so. Much of the negativity surrounding whiplash compensation claims centre around the ‘fact’ that whiplash is, allegedly, easy to ‘fake’.

    Is whiplash genuine?

Whiplash is a very genuine injury and our lawyers will still continue to act on behalf of customers who have this injury, either on its own or as part of other injuries they may have sustained.

In its mildest form, whiplash is literally a pain in the neck! It can be painful and sore but in cases such as this, usually rights itself within a week or two.

At its worse, whiplash can be severe and difficult to live with; the skeleton in the neck, shoulder and back can be damaged; ligaments and muscles can be torn or damaged too. Many people with severe whiplash not only experience severe pain, but also numbness and tingling down the arms and into the hands and fingers.

Most people with a suspected whiplash injury and x-rayed, in some cases they are also scanned to check any muscle damage, and in the less severe cases, are given pain killing medication. For others with more severe whiplash, they may need more interventions, such as physiotherapy.
