Police and the emergency services in Bolsover were called to an accident on the junction of the A632 Station Road and the Bolsover Hill slip road yesterday morning. Reports say the car “flew around the bend hit the kerb and flipped into the air and to the path of an oncoming car. The car ended up on its side after rolling twice and being hit by the other car.”

Fire men had to free the driver of the upturned vehicle, although the passenger was able to free himself without assistance and get out of the car. He was treated at the scene and then he was taken to hospital for treatment along with a man who was walking his dog, who was injured when he had to dive for cover.

An eyewitness said “I was heading west on the A632 when I saw the car just rolling and the car ib front of me hit it. I managed to avoid them both. When I stopped my car I noticed that there was a man on the ground with a dog licking his face and whining. I immediately called 999. Whoever was driving the car left on its side should look for a good law firm in Bolsover, as they were clearly going too fast.”

Burt, 60 was the injured pedestrian; he was out with his trusted hound Marley. Marley in fact saved Burt from taking the full impact of the car, as he alerted his master of the impending danger. Burt hit his head when dived for cover, and broke his collarbone and sustained damage to his neck.

Burt spent 5 days in hospital Marley had to spend 12 weeks in a kennel, as Burt could not take care of him. Burt also had to take 12 weeks off work. He decided to seek out a law firm in Bolsover in order to claim compensation for his losses.
