Oakamoor is a small village in north Staffordshire. If you have been in an accident there which was not your fault and it has left you unable to work then you may want to find out about claiming compensation. Finding the right injury solicitor to represent you is not always easy but a telephone call to Accident Advice Helpline will give you the advice which you need.

    Through the skin

One of the dangers when you have been in an accident and are stuck at home is that you can become dehydrated. This tends to happen more so if there is no-one there to look after you and getting about is a bit difficult or you are suffering from depression. Dehydration is caused by excessive loss of body fluids through the bladder; through the skin when you perspire; through the lungs because exhaled air contains water droplets and you also lose water through your bowels.

It is a common mistake that people don’t realise that if they are thirsty, they are starting to become dehydrated. When we are ill or injured, it is easy to ignore thirst because of the difficulty in getting up to obtain some fluids. Other symptoms of dehydration are a dry mouth, dry tongue, dry nasal mucosa, dry skin and headaches.

Obviously dehydration happens when we fail to drink enough water but there are other less obvious reasons why it happens as well and this includes not getting enough fruit and vegetable in the diet. Too much caffeine also causes dehydration so it is wise to monitor how much tea, coffee, alcohol and soft drinks you consume. Central heating and air conditioning can also work towards making you dehydrated so if you are sitting in a heated room all day as well as making sure that you get plenty of fluids down you, you should leave a bowl of water in the room to put some moisture back into the air. Make sure that you place it where it can’t come into contact with any electrical equipment and cannot be knocked over.
