    Injury solicitors in Docklands

Docklands is the semi official name for an area in the east and south east of London. Over the past 30 years, the population of the Docklands has more than doubled and the area has become both a major business centre and an increasingly desirable area to live.

There are many restaurants, cafes and take aways in Docklands just as there are in the rest of the country.  If you have food from one of them and become ill, you may have contracted food poisoning and may be able to use injury solicitors Docklands to make a personal injury claim.

Using injury solicitors in Docklands might make you feel better

Food poisoning is caused by eating contaminated food and will make you feel very poorly, hopefully some recompense for how ill you have felt may help to make you feel better and injury solicitors Docklands can assist you to get this.

The contamination of food is unnecessary if only the food outlets took more precautions such as:

    • Cooking the food properly
    • Not keeping cooked food at a warm temperature for too long
    • Storing food at the correct temperature, particularly in the case of chilled foods
    • Not using food on which the use by date has been passed
    • Not refreezing thawed food
    • Washing fresh fruit, salad and vegetables well
    • Basic hygiene in the kitchen and for everyone that uses it or touches the food
    • Not allowing cross contamination of foods

Once bacteria have infected a food they will thrive and spread very quickly but the contamination is not always visible.  Bad colour or smells to the food should result in instant disposal and it should certainly never be used in this condition.

How you will know you have food poisoning

Generally, if you have eaten affected food, you will start to feel ill within a few hours and certainly no more than 3 days later and then you may:

    • Be vomiting
    • Have diarrhea
    • Suffer stomach cramps
    • Be listless

Mild cases of food poisoning will clear themselves within a few days if the sufferer is sensible.  You should rest, drink plenty of water in sips and not attempt any food until you start to feel better.  At first, you should only eat things that are easy to digest.   .

More severe cases can have serious affects on a person’s health causing nerve damage and even fatalities.
