    Injury Solicitor in Towcester

Towcester is a small town in south Northamptonshire, which can trace its roots back to the Roman settlement of Lactodorum. The town’s current name however is derived from the Old English Tofe-Ceaster with Tofe referring to the nearby River Tove and Ceaster coming from the Latin Castra, meaning ‘camp’. Therefore, Tofe-Ceaster and later Towcester, can be translated as meaning ‘Camp on the River Tove’.

Modern day Towcester is approximately eight miles south west of Northampton and ten miles north west of Milton Keynes and has the A5 road running through its centre providing access north and south. The town had a population of 8,856 at the time of the 2001 census but due to new housing developments and other factors this is projected to have grown to around 20,000 by 2020. This means that Towcester is likely to become a far more common source of personal injury compensation claims.

    Injury Solicitor In Towcester

The reasons why Towcester is likely to become a more likely source of claims is quite simply because of the fact that a higher population inexorably leads to a larger number of accidents and incidents which can give rise to personal injury claims. For example, Towcester will undoubtedly produce more road traffic collision claims when it plays host to more people and therefore more traffic. So, the likelihood is that in the coming years more Towcester residents will find themselves in need of the answers to the following questions about the claims process.

When And Why Can Compensation Be Claimed?

The law states that if you are injured or fall ill and somebody else was demonstrably to blame then you are entitled to seek personal injury compensation. This compensation is not offered as a form of justice or revenge but instead is designed to provide a victim with some measure of recompense for their physical, emotional and financial suffering.

How Long Do You Have To Claim?

In the majority of cases you must begin claims proceedings within three years of the incident in question, and if you don’t then your ability to claim elapses. The only types of claim which are subject to slightly different limitations are those which regard injuries to a minor and those which deal with industrial diseases such as asbestos poisoning.
