Road Traffic Accidents
Road traffic accidents can be very frightening to witness and to be involved in. Unfortunately, on a long enough time scale there is a good chance that most, if not all of us, will be involved in one road traffic accident (or road traffic collision) at some point in our lives. Hopefully this will be a minor accident, perhaps nothing more than a low impact collision resulting in minor whiplash, however, it could very well be something far more serious.
Regardless of the severity of the accident, if you have been injured as a result of an accident which was caused by someone else, speak to an injury solicitor in Seaview today to find out if you can make a claim for financial compensation.
Professional drivers are understandably more at risk of having a road traffic collision than any other road user purely because of the amount of time they spend on our roads.
If you are a professional driver and have been involved in an accident whilst working then you may be able to make a claim for personal injury against your employer. To find out more speak to an injury solicitor in Seaview today, or take Accident Advice Helpline’s 30 second test to check your eligibility and to find out how much your claim might actually be worth.
The Working Time Regulations
The Working Time regulations apply to all workers, but one area that is specifically relevant to professional drivers is the section that relates to how much time you are allowed to spend behind the wheel driving.
The regulations are fairly complex, but generally speaking when it is broken down, a professional driver should take at least a 45 minute break for every four and a half hours they spend behind the wheel. This is to ensure they are not over tired whilst driving.
Our injury solicitor in Seaview has worked on cases where drivers have been forced by their employers to violate these regulations, with employers even falsifying documents to try and hide the fact that drivers have been working longer hours than allowed.
In such situations it is possible that drivers will become over tired and therefore make poor judgments whilst driving. It is even possible that they may fall asleep at the wheel and cause an accident as a result – perhaps an accident which results in a fatality.
If you have been injured in such a driver, whether you are the driver who has been a victim of their employer’s lack of care and responsibility, or as another road user then you can make a claim for personal injury compensation. Speak to an injury solicitor in Seaview today to find out more and to discuss the details of your case with a professional.
