It was a sunny day when it happened, and nobody was expecting it. We all woke up in a good mood, we had breakfast together and, unusually, nobody was fighting. You know what it’s like, in any family, someone is always in a bad mood. The kids are always a little bit mean to each other or are upset with one or both of the parents for whatever insignificant reason. Well, this morning, it was all happy. Now that I look back on it, it was like the calm before the storm.

Alan had to go to work. There are a few Saturdays in a year that he has to work, and this was one of them. We all kissed him good bye and told him we were looking forward to seeing him at lunchtime. Except that lunch never happened.

The hospital called, saying that my husband had been brought into hospital and asking me to go there right away. There were important decisions to be taken. I asked whether I should bring the kids along and they said yes. That couldn’t have been a good sign.

We almost lost him. He was in surgery and they had to fix pretty much everything about him. The accident was caused by a drunk driver, a young man who had been partying the whole night and was on his way home. He had fallen asleep behind the wheel, pushing the gas pedal.

Alan made it through, but couldn’t work for the rest of the year. It has been such an intense period for our family. If anything, it made us stronger and it made us appreciate even more what we have.

We’d like to find a good injury solicitor in Mattersey and file the personal injury claim. We’re thinking of taking a holiday for a few weeks, all together, somewhere sunny, to be carefree at least for a little while.

When to talk to an injury solicitor in Mattersey

If you’re ready to file the personal injury claim, you must be already looking for an injury solicitor in Mattersey. In case you didn’t already know, you are allowed to file the claim as late as three years from the accident. It is true, however, that the sooner you make the claim, the sooner you will receive the compensation and the sooner you can go on your holiday.
