Here at Accident Advice Helpline, we believe in keeping our finger on the pulse of the latest developments within the personal injury compensation claim ‘business’, as well as some of the stories carried in the media about accidents and injuries.
The story we read recently was a story of two parts, about something positive coming out of something negative. The impact could have been far worse and, like our expert injury solicitor will tell you, this is common factor in many stories of the accidents and mishaps we hear about on a daily basis.
This cycling catastrophe must be the living nightmare of so many cyclists across the UK; some people have had this happen to them and have been seriously hurt or, in some very sad cases, have not lived to tell the tale.
And what is so heinous that means every cyclists dreads it happening to them?
The answer: cycling past a car and the door being swung open into their path.
In this case, the cyclist in question turned somersault several times in the air, landing on his head which was fortunately encased in a helmet. With slight concussion and a sore shoulder, this cyclist was lucky; others have landed on their heads and suffered fatal head trauma.
Happened to you?
Our injury solicitors could help you! There are some criteria that need meeting to ensure success in the whole claims process:
- Providing as a cyclist you were performing a safe and legal manoeuvre, being knocked from your bike by a car door opening into your path is an accident that was not your fault. You are now one step closer to getting the help of our specialist injury solicitors.
- We doubt that being knocked from your bike in this way will be something that leaves you injury free hence, in the majority of cases, cyclists will need medical attention – in most cases, this is provided immediately by the emergency services although we have known cyclists walk in to Accident and Emergency departments in their own time to seek medical attention for some fairly serious injuries.
- And finally, your injury solicitor will be able to help you if you are making a claim for injuries received in an accident that happened within the last 3 years.
