Spotlight on: compensation claims
What is a compensation claim?
A claim for compensation is brought by a person who has sustained a personal injury as a result of an accident or incident against another person or a company. However, to have an eligible claim with an injury solicitor in Cosby, you must not have been at fault.
What sort of personal injury will your injury solicitor in Cosby help me claim for?
There are no set criteria for which personal injuries we will claim compensation for. Personal injuries can include non-severe injuries, such as a broken finger, or we can help you claim compensation for more serious personal injuries. Likewise, we also help people claim for industrial diseases, and we can help victims’ families claim for fatalities.
How much will it cost to make a claim for compensation?
With Accident Advice Helpline and our injury solicitor in Cosby, we take on all cases on a no win no fee basis. Known formally in legal terms as a conditional fee agreement, what it means for you the client is that in order to make a claim for compensation, you will need no money to start the claim. Our injury solicitor in Cosby will be able to discuss all the finer details with you or, you can call us on 0800 689 0500 and one of our advisers will put your mind at rest.
What about attending court?
There is no doubting that claiming compensation is a big step, but the vast majority of our cases are resolved before they get anywhere near a court room. This is because the person or business being sued usually accepts liability or responsibility for the accident, meaning that the path is clear for you to be recompensed for your injuries.
Will I need a medical assessment?
You may need to attend a medical assessment. We encourage all of our clients who are medically assessed to view this as a positive step, as an independent person can produce a truly independent viewpoint of your injuries, and the effects.
But isn’t it all a bit sordid?
No! Many people have been hurt as a result of accidents that were not their fault. Our legal teams, including one headed by our expert injury solicitor in Cosby, will tell you that some of these injuries were life-changing, the impacts far reaching for both the client involved and their families.
Claiming compensation has been written in British law for a long time. If you have been hurt, you are entitled to make a claim.
