A claim for an injury sustained in an accident at a rail level crossing will need an Injury lawyer in West Berkshire

The local district of West Berkshire is situated in the county of Royal Berkshire in England and it is the site of a level crossing that has been cited as the cause of several incidents involving fatalities. This has brought calls for urgent action to be taken so that there are no future accidents at the level crossing. The level crossing is located at Ufton Nervet and a man was killed recently in an incident at the crossing in Berkshire which makes him the third individual to have died in an accident at this level crossing.

A resident who was injured in the crash has said that action needs to be taken to stop the repeated incidents. Network Rail is responsible for the level crossing and they have said that they are attempting to find the funds to build a bridge at the Ufton Nervet crossing. A spokesman for the company has said that a design has been completed for a new bridge to replace the level crossing but that there is currently not enough funding for it to be built and that they may have to make changes to the crossing as it stands to prevent future accidents.

Network Rail has said it was working towards a solution for the crossing since last October and has been working with the West Berkshire Council to build a bridge to replace the level crossing. However, the spokesman said that negotiations about the bridge are ongoing with local communities, landowners and other local authorities.

It has been noted that in the past five years, over 750 level crossings have been closed and replaced with safer options. Network Rail has also said that they plan to close another 500 level crossings in the future as they are the highest risk area of any railway.
