    • Are you looking for injury experts in Staddle Bridge?
    • Are you a parent, or guardian of a child?
    • Has your child been injured as a result of an accident?
    • Was the accident not their fault?

If you can answer yes to all of the questions above then our team of injury solicitors might be able to assist you in making a claim for compensation on behalf of your child. You don’t actually need local injury experts in Staddle Bridge to begin a compensation claim.

Our injury solicitors here at Accident Advice Helpline are all fully trained and work exclusively on personal injury cases.  They can assist in any type of claim, including those involving children.

You can either make a claim on behalf of your child, or you can wait until they are old enough, i.e. 18 and they can make a claim in their own name.

If you make a claim you will need to be a litigation friend and any money that is awarded for compensation will be held over for your child until they reach the age to draw on it themselves.

    Cycling accidents

Children can be injured in a whole host of different ways.  However, one of the most common types of cases that our injury solicitors work on each year involving children are cycling accidents.

When most people think of a cycling accident, they think of collisions with other road users.  While this is, of course, one of the many ways you can be injured whilst cycling, it is by no means the only way.

Our injury solicitors have worked on a worryingly high number of cases where the bicycle itself has been the problem when it comes to the cause of an accident.

One client contacted us after his son broke both his legs in a cycling accident  Sammy had been cycling home from school when the brakes on his brand new bike failed.  Unable to stop his bicycle he crashed into a wall at high speed, breaking both legs, fracturing his wrist and receiving numerous cuts and lacerations to his face and hands.

His left leg was so severely broken that he had to have metal pins inserted in it to help ensure the leg would heal in proper alignment.

Our injury solicitors were able to help the family decide whether they wanted to make a claim immediately, or wait until he was old enough to make a claim in his own right.  Given the severity of his injuries and the impact it was having on him immediately, they decided to claim straight away, knowing that the funds would be there for when he was old enough to draw down on them himself.

Our injury solicitors worked with the family to provide evidence that it was the faulty brakes which caused the accident.  The company who made the bikes had seen similar problems and had received reports and complaints from other parents whose children had been injured.

The manufacturer decided to settle out of court.
