    Injury experts in Newdigate

If you live in Newdigate, then you will probably know that there is not much point in looking for a firm of injury experts in Newdigate in the village. You would have to go further afield to find some. You may be looking for injury experts in Newdigate if you have been injured in an accident which you can prove was no fault of yours. You can claim compensation for minor injuries as well as for life-changing ones, and the amount you receive will reflect the severity of your injury.

If you have been diagnosed with an illness in the last three years, which you and your injury experts in Newdigate, or ones based elsewhere, can prove was the fault of another person’s negligence, then you may also be eligible to file a personal injury compensation claim.  For example, if you have been diagnosed with a work-related illness, you may be able to prove that it was caused because of your employer’s negligence. Your employer may have failed to provide you with appropriate protective gear, or to train you adequately, or your working environment may have been dusty and you were not provided with breathing apparatus and so on. However if you were provided with the appropriate protective gear but you failed to use it, you would not be eligible to make a claim.

    Silicosis – an occupational disease

There were brickworks around Newdigate because there are clay beds there. Bricks can contain up to 30 % silica, and if a person is exposed to respirable crystalline silica (RCS) over a period of time, silicosis may result. Clay contains silica so quarrying it can be hazardous as can working in a pottery and so on.

If you are exposed to RCS over the years, then fibrosis could begin. This is a hardening or scarring of the lung tissue, and eventually, the affected lung will cease to function. People complain of shortness of breath and may not be able to climb the stairs at home. Silicosis sufferers eventually find themselves house- or bed-bound. Death usually occurs prematurely through heart failure.

Silica is also thought to be linked to cancer, and people who are exposed to RCSs and who develop silicosis are more prone to other diseases such as tuberculosis, kidney disease and arthritis, for example.
