    If you have been involved in an accident, you will know from first hand experience that it can be a very traumatic and stressful experience. Having to deal with physical injuries as well as the psychological impact of an accident can be very difficult, and it is a time when the support of your family and friends will be endlessly valuable. To help alleviate the stress you may be feeling, we have put together a personal injury compensation guide to familiarise you with the claims process and place you at ease whilst making a claim for compensation.

    How to determine your eligibility to make a claim

    If you have been involved in an accident, it will need to fulfil certain criteria to be eligible for personal injury compensation:

    • It must have happened within the past three years (with the exception of minors).
    • It must have resulted in the need for medical attention, for example at your local GP surgery or hospital accident and emergency clinic.
    • Someone else must have been to blame for your accident – such as a careless driver, or a negligent employer.

In addition, this will also provide you with an approximate compensation figure – indicating what you will likely be able to receive in monetary terms depending on the severity of your injury.
