Europe fires warning shot across the bows of Injury Claims Solicitors

There is growing concern around directives coming from the European Community that could have a massive impact on the work of injury claims solicitors. Europe is slowly becoming a force to be reckoned with and its policies are starting to reach further than the borders of Europe. One policy that will have a global impact is that if an accident occurs whilst in the European Community compensation will be paid out in line with the European country where the accident occurred.

You may think Europe is all singing and all dancing but their compensation rights are substantially lower than those in the UK. Injury claims solicitors are decidedly nervous about this latest offering from Eurocrats as it could undermine years of hard work they have done to secure proper levels of compensation for victims of accidents.

Injury claims solicitors have acquired very specific skills that enable them to be able to assess medical records of seriously injured people. They have built up knowledge, worked with medical professionals to be able to work out the long term needs of accident victims. For all of its alleged forward thinking the European Community really need to rethink this policy. If Europe has its own way in this, the injury claims solicitors will feel as though they have moved backwards ten years.

There will be resistance and no doubt there will be movement to middle ground, in the interim everyone is taking this as a warning shot from Europe. Currently it is business as usual injury claims specialists continue to work tirelessly with companies like Accident Advice Helpline helping the victims of tragic accidents. Until the final decree from The European Community is passed, the rules remain the same and claims are being processed in the same fashion meaning that accidents that happened abroad can receive compensation as per UK allowances.

There is to some degree inevitability, that as the global community expands, so equilibrium is established eventually the European Community will start to impact and influence the world more than it currently does, the question would be how far can it go? What about the United States of America? One can only imagine how they will receive this kind of news. They have been at the forefront of personal injury advancements for decades it is unlikely they are going to let Europe drive this into the dark ages.

Questions are being raised as to the rationale behind this policy after all it is not the governments of the countries as a rule of thumb paying out the compensation; it is the companies themselves being called to account. There is an underlying fear that the message being sent out by Europe will be companies can get off light in their responsibility to pay for their negligent behaviour.

One thing is for sure and that is that injury claims solicitors will be at the centre of the affray defending the rights of innocent victims.
