Not many people would say they do not know who Esther Rantzen is, but just in case here are a few facts about her:
- Esther Rantzen was born on 22nd June 1940 in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire
- She has one sibling, a younger sister called Pricilla
- Educated at North London Collegiate School and Oxford University
- Performed with the Oxford University Dramatic Society
- Trained in secretarial skills
Esther Rantzen spent time at the BBC
Esther spent many years working for the BBC. First as a researcher, then she appeared on Bradens Week as one of several presenters. When Bernard Braden went back to Canada to present a similar consumer show, BBC started That’s Life. Esther was the programme’s main anchorperson for the 21 years that the series ran.
She was more than a TV presenter though. While on the programme, she became very influential. There were several campaigns she ran which concluded with changes in the law, usually to do with the rights of children, the elderly, the disabled or consumers. The end of the programme did not stop her though and even today, she is the patron or vice-president of 15 different charities. She has also worked very hard for the last 10 years to raise the publics’ awareness to the UK law which says – if you are injured in an accident that was not your fault, the guilty party should compensate you financially.
Esther endorses our efforts in the personal injury compensation field because she soon realised that we are one of the leaders in the market, we don’t make false promises and we care about our claimants, putting them first every time.
Her campaigning has not stopped, and she still says we are the best for an injury claim in Staverton
Esther still fights for what she believes in, still stands up for the rights of others. She truly is an amazing lady, so much so that after the creation of Childline, which she did against all odds, she was trained to be a counsellor so that she could speak to the troubled children herself.
