    Injury claim in Sedbergh

    If you have an accident on a ship, you may be able to make an injury claim in Sedbergh

    If you are a crew member on a ship, and you are the blameless victim of an accident in which you are injured, you may be entitled to make an injury claim in Sedbergh.

    As an employee of the operators of a cruise, you would be covered by the rules and regulations covering all employees. All employers have a legal duty to protect the health of safety of their employees in the workplace. If they do not comply, and you are injured in an accident because of their negligence, you may be able to make an injury claim in Sedbergh. Normally the accident must have happened within the last three years, but in the case of accidents on ships this time limit is reduced to two years.

    Passenger accidents and illnesses

    Although ship operators take every precaution, accidents and illnesses still happen while they are at sea. These situations may be caused by:

    • Cluttered walkways;
    • Non-secured objects hitting people;
    • Food poisoning;
    • Legionnaires’ disease;
    • Tripping and falling accidents;
    • Injuries caused by faulty products; and
    • Wet floor surfaces.

    If you are enjoying a cruise or taking a relatively short journey on a ferry, and you are injured in an accident that was not your fault, you may be able to make an injury claim in Sedbergh for compensation.

    Accident Advice Helpline can handle your claim, whether you are an employee or a passenger

    To make a personal injury compensation claim for an accident that happened on board a cruise ship is not straightforward. The claim depends on which port the cruise started at, which ports it visited and which port it ended at. The claim would be governed by the rules of either the Athens Convention or the Package Travel Regulations. Accident Advice Helpline would check the routes and work out which you are covered under.
