    The injury car crash checklist

If you are involved in an injury car crash, you may feel a number of things, primarily shock. But if you are physically able, remembering to do the following things could strengthen your claim and help you earn the maximum amount in damages.

If you are in an injury car crash:

    Open Claim Calculator

    • Record the time, date and location of the accident
    • Get the license plate and insurance details of the guilty party
    • Take as many photographs as you can with your camera/camera phone
    • Take down the details of any witnesses in case your claim needs to go to court
    • Any other details (Was it raining? Did the driver signal correctly? Were the headlights in proper working order?)

You should keep all of this information filed and organised so it is easy to find. Most cases are settled without having to go to court; in fact, some are settled over the phone, so all you have to do is wait for you compensation cheque. You will however need to provide your solicitor with supporting documentation that can strengthen your case, so having it on hand it key.
