    Can you make a claim?

to make a personal injury compensation claim, you have to prove that someone else, or an organisation, was to blame for your accident. You can do this easily if the police investigated the causes of your accident. They will have compiled an accident report saying how and why your accident happened. This report can be used to prove that you were not to blame.

You will also need your medical records and doctor’s report if you are to make a claim. These will detail your injuries and state when your accident occurred.

These medical documents will show that you had treatment for our injuries very soon after the accident. They are needed to work out how much you should be awarded for your pain, distress and suffering, if you make a successful claim.

You may also use photographic evidence to support your claim. Take photographs of the accident scene.

If you have gathered statements from witnesses to your accident, these will also be useful.
