    How do I know if I am entitled to claim personal injury compensation?

    Accident Advice Helpline will be able to discuss your individual case and advise you whether you have a legitimate claim for personal injury compensation. There is certain criteria that needs to filled in order to qualify to claim compensation.

    Firstly the accident should have occurred with in the last three years. It should also be possible to prove that you were not at fault and that the cause of the accident was the negligence or error of a third party.

    You should also be able to prove that you suffered personal injuries as a result of the accident.

    How much injury compensation am I entitled to?

    Every personal injury claim for compensation is slightly different. However your personal injury solicitor will be able to give you an estimate of how much injury compensation you can expect.

    The figure they give you will be based on general and special damages. General damages is the compensation for the injuries and pain you have suffered. This includes both physical and emotional injuries. Special damages is the compensation for any financial loss resulting from the accident. This includes loss of earnings and things such as medical expenses etc.

    How long will it take to settle my claim?

    Most claims are settled within a few months. However the length of time will depend on the seriousness of your injuries and the complexity of the case. In more complicated cases or where the personal injury compensation claim is disputed it may take a little while longer.

    How much will the personal injury solicitor charge me?

    All of the solicitors that work with Accident Advice Helpline work on a no win, no fee** arrangement.
