How much does it cost to claim for whiplash?

Have you been hurt in a car accident and want to know how much does it cost to claim for whiplash?

Whiplash is strain to the soft tissues and bones of the neck and can lead to a whole range of symptoms. These symptoms can include neck pain and neck stiffness. Other complaints include spine pain, headache and shoulder pain.

Whiplash is caused by trauma to the neck and can result from a car accident in which  your car has been hit from behind or if you have been involved in other types of vehicular collision e.g. train or bus. Other causes of whiplash can include head injury due to falls or other types of impact to the head.

Depending on many different factors the symptoms of whiplash may be mild or severe and can last for days, weeks or months. Your specialist or GP will diagnose the condition of whiplash and give you advice on how to manage your condition. This may include prescribing pain killers and/or muscle relaxants and referring you to a physiotherapist. A physiotherapist may give you exercises to help manage your condition or apply treatments such as ice or heat packs. Sometimes acupuncture can be helpful.
