    Highland Accident Claim

Rob from the Scottish Highlands sustained damage to his hand when he was involved in an accident at work. Rob was employed as a chef for a local restaurant and he had been trying to lift a chicken from the freezer when the incident occurred. The safety catch on the large freezer snapped and the door crashed shut on top of Rob’s hand. He cried out in pain and a colleague rushed over to help.

As soon as the door was lifted, Rob knew that he had suffered serious damage. His fingers were misshapen and there was a lot of bleeding. So Rob called for a taxi to take him to the accident and emergency unit.

    Injuries

Rob learned that he had broken bones in three of his fingers. His entire hand was badly bruised and Rob had to have a supportive cast applied. It would be several weeks before he would be able use his hand again and Rob knew that it was going to have a major impact on his life.

Rob was unable to return to work until his hand healed and he lost income as a result. What’s more, he could not drive and Rob had to rely on public transport and taxis to get around. He even found it difficult to do his grocery shopping and Rob had to enlist the help of his sister on several occasions.
